• RDM 14 Series: Rugged NEMA 1 rack-mount 4U PC chassis for standard EIA 19"

rack. Removable metal handles. 2 mm steel chassis construction with lockable steel

front-panel door (two keys included). Black color standard.

• Front Panel: Front access to one 3.5" bay (floppy drive included) & three 5.25" bays;

internal space for one 3.5" drive. Front panel has power and reset switches, alarm

mute switch, & LEDs for alarm, power, and hard drive activity. Front-access USB port.

• Configurations: RDF 14P models include one of three 14-slot PCI/ISA-bus backplanes

(other backplane options available; visit our website or call our applications engineers

77). Leftmost 7 slots accept

full-length expansion cards up to 13.4" long. Rightmost 7 slots accept cards up to

8.3" long with a drive in the 5.25" drive bay, or 11.1" long with no drive installed.

• Power Supply: 2 x 400W hot-swap power supply operates on 115/230 VAC at

47~63 Hz. MTBF: 100,000 hours. Power supply shuts down on detection of a short

circuit. Be sure to order at least one spare power module for all hot-swap systems

(see ordering information at right). Additional power supplies on page 114.

• Dimensions: 19" Wide at flanges x 7" (4U) High x 17.9" Deep (483x 178 x 455mm).

Depth behind panel: 17.6" (446 mm). Weight: 35.8 lbs. (16.24 kg).

• Cooling: One 120 mm ball-bearing fan with removable filter at front of chassis, three

cooling fans in the power supply (one 80mm & two 40mm), plus one auxiliary blower-

style fan that vents warm air out the rear of the chassis. Included fan monitor alarms

on fan failure and on temperature rising above 50°C, 60°C, or 70°C (jumper-

selectable); alarm can be silenced during repairs (for details, see bottom of p. 51).

• Environmental Specifications: Operating Temp.: +32° to +122°F (0° to +50°C).

Storage Temp.: –4° to +158°F (–20° to +70°C). Humidity: 5 to 90%, noncondensing.
